Many people play the game of basketball and claim to be the best basketball players of all time. If you ask these so-called “best” players what they would say about themselves, they might give you a similar answer. They may tell you that they are the best, but that answer is not always the truth. There are plenty of great athletes who have played basketball and claim to be the best in the world at their craft. The truth is that some of them might be the best basketball players of all time, but if you look at the statistics, the numbers don’t lie.
The Best Basketball Players Of All Time
So who are the best basketball players of all time? Well, it depends on whom you ask. Some claim to be the best, while others might say they are not. The real question then is, who is right? We will try to answer this question in this article. First, we need to define the term “best.” For our purposes, we will use the term “best” as it relates to the NBA. This will allow us to narrow down the list of players to only those who have been proven to be the best basketball players of all time. The definition of “best” will vary from person to person. This is especially true if you’re using particular criteria to make your decision.
Let’s Stick With The NBA
However, for our purposes, let’s stick with the NBA. If you remove the guys who joined the league in recent years, you are left with two or three best basketball players of all time. These players are Jordan and Allen Iverson. They have been proven to be among the best in the game today, and each of them has at least six years of dependable service.
Now let’s look at how each player’s career stacks up against the other top contenders. Jordan is still the best basketball player of all time, although he may be coming down from his peak. Iverson was also great, but injuries limited his ability to participate in the NBA down the stretch. He never reached the same level of dominance that he achieved during his rookie year. Tracy McGrady is another candidate. His numbers are a bit more even than those of Jordan or Iverson, and his defensive ability is comparable to only one player of the past. All around, though, McGrady sits near the top of the list as far as the best basketball players of all time.
Michael Jordan is considering the best basketball player of all time because of his dominance on the court. He is the best athlete of all time, as well, and perhaps the reason he is so great is that he understood the importance of conditioning and working on his jump shot and other skills. Other players could have had a Hall of Fame career, and if they were not already in the Hall, they would most likely get there one day. It would be unfair to call any of the best basketball players of all time, including Jordan, not worthy of the Hall of Fame. Some will always be considered the best, though.
Legend Basketball Player
Most people agree that Jordan is the best basketball player of all time. Others will argue that Kobe Bryant belongs in the discussion, with Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, and John Stockton coming in close behind. What you decide to do is really up to you and your preferences. But all three of these players are considered the best basketball players of all time. What do you think?
How Did I Grew Into A Basketball Junkie
I was lucky enough to be a basketball junkie when I was growing up, and I would regularly watch highlights of some of the best basketball players of all time. Even if you do not care about basketball, there is no way that you could ignore Michael Jordan, especially after his six-foot spell during the 1996 Olympics. He broke all of the records at that time and has still set many of them to this very day. While I do not consider him to be the best basketball player of all time, he does have a rightful place in the Hall of Fame.
Anytime that someone has achieved as much as he has in his sport, it is fair to put them in the Hall so that other great players can experience what they have experienced. So, I vote for Michael Jordan.
